Ara : Malay Singh, 50,  son of late Ishwar Singh of village Rajapur under Koelwar police station in Bhojpur district, who was  injured in group clash over the issue of bogus voting at a polling station under Ara parliamentary constituency (PC) on May 19, 2019, succumbed to his injuries at Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) on May 20, 2019, morning.

Police took the body to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem after it was brough over to Ara  from Patna. Irate villagers blocked the roads at Rajapur and Manikpur on Ara-Patna main road paralysing movement of vehicles. They were demanding action against the guilty and a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to next of kin of the deceased. Heavy police force has been deployed in the area to maintain law and order. The blockade was lifted after positive response from the police officials.

SHO, Koelwar police station, said that in a group clash in protest against bogus voting, two persons : Malay Singh and Om Prakash Singh, were injured and were admitted to Ara Sadar Hospital where the doctor referred both of them to PMCH where Malay Singh succumbed to his injuries.
