Patna : An irate mob blocked traffic on Akhara Ghat bridge at Muzaffarpur, the lifeline of the headquarters of Tirhut Division, on September 22, 2017, following the death of a young man Mukesh Kumar of the area at Muzaffarpur Sadar Hosptil in the morning.
Mukesh was caught by some residents under Mithanpura police station area suspecting him to be a thief on September 21 night and beat him mercilessly. Mukesh succumbed to his injuries at Sadar Hospital on September 22 morning after which Akhara Ghat residents got angry and blocked the Akhara Ghat bridge alleging Mukesh died due to police negligence. Police are investigating the reasons behind death of Mukesh.
