Man arrested with firearms, ammunition from Bhojpur village

Ara : Bhojpur police, on a tip off, conducted raid at village Kalyanpur under Charpokhari police station and arrested a man along with a rifle, a countymade pistol, six life cartridges, and six blank cartridges on March 17, 2019, late evening.

The arrested man was identified as Mahendr Singh, son of Sri Bhagwan Singh of Kalyanpur village. A named FIR has been lodged by Charpokhari police station against Mahendra Singh under the Arms Act and later police sent him to jail after interrogation.

SHO, Charpokhari police station, Sourabh Kumar, said that senior officials got information that arms and ammunition had been stored at the house of Mahendra Singh and ordered the SHOs of Charpokhari and Udwantnagar police stations to jointly conduct raids. Police immediately conducted raid there and arrested Mahendra Singh and seized firearms and ammunition.
