Buxar : Police seized 366 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and also arrested a liquor smuggler during a vehicle checking drive near Simari Bazaar under Simari police station in Buxar district on March 18, 2019. The arrested liquor smuggler was identified as Kishun Manjhi.
A named FIR has been lodged by Simari police station under Prohibition & Excise Act and police sent the arrested liquor smuggler to jail after interrogation.
SHO, Simari police station, Ranjeet Kumar said that Kishun Manjhi along with his friend was smuggling liquor in his motorcycle. Seeing police, they tried to escape but police chased and arrested Kishun Manjhi though his friend succeeded in escaping. Police seized 366 bottles of IMFL. The SHO said that Kishun Manjhi confessed during interrogation that he was in liquor business for long and had smuggled liquor from a liquor shop at Laxmanpur, Uttar Pradesh, to Buxar through river Ganga.
