Saharsa : Police on February 23, 2017, night arrested a drunkard Dhananjay Mahto, a native of village Patouri, near Devi Mandir located on Patouri – Navhatta Mor under Bihra police station in Saharsa district, with 28 bottles of foreign liquor and a pistol.
SHO, Bihra police station, Mohd Sarwar Alam, said he had received information that some people were boozing in a hut. When police reached there, they started fleeing but police arrested Dhananjay Mahto, son of Sanjay Mahto, and took two other youth : Bijendra Kumar and Chandra Kishore Kumar, under their custody. All the three were being interrogated, the SHO said adding that Dhananjay was earlier arrested from Saharsa under Arms Act. The SHO also said that Sanjay Mahto too was arrested earlier by police in a matter pertaining to liquor and sent to jail and released about a fortnight back on bail.
