Ara : Police on July 2, 2019, arrested an employee of Maharaja College, Ara, and brother of a former MLC, Kavindra Prasad Singh, son of Jwala Singh of K G road under Nawada police station, Ara, in Bhojpur district, in connection with fraud of Rs 5 lakh. He was absconding for nearly a year. Police later sent him to Ara jail after interrogation.
SHO, Nawada police station, said that Pankaj Kumar Singh of Jagdeonagar under Nawada police station had lodged an FIR against Kavindra Prasad Singh, a clerk in local Maharaja College and brother of a former MLC, and Mahendra Singh in 2018 alleging a fraud of Rs 5 lakh.
The SHO said that Pankaj Kumar Singh had given Rs 5 lakh to Kavindra Prasad Singh and Mahendra Singh in 2018. Kavindra Prasad Singh returned the amount through a cheque but when the cheque was deposited in the bank for withdrawal of money, the cheque bounced. Pankaj Kumar Singh lodged a named FIR against Kavindra Prasad Singh and Mahendra Singh in this connection. Mahendra Singh got bail while Kavindra Prasad Singh was absconding. P0olice arrested Kavindra Prasad Singh from near his house and brought him over to Nawada police station.
