Madison Keys beats Kuznetsova to win Cincinnati Open title

Patna : Madison Keys, 24, USA, the 2017 US Open finalist, beat World No 153 Svetlana Kuznetsova,  34, Russia, in the final after August 18, 2019, mid-night, to lift the Cincinnati Open, a WTA Premier event, title. Keys beat Kuznetsova, who had stunned top seed Ashleigh Barty in the semi-finals, in a tough contest 7-5, 7-6 in the final.

Keys, the 16th seed, fired 13 Aces in the match to 2 by Kuznetsova, the winner of two Grand Slam singles title. Keys won 3 break points to 2 by the Russian, who had defeated 3 top ten players en route final. Keys won 5 games in a row in the match to 3 by Kuznetsova.
