Madhepura : Three unidentified bike borne criminals on April 15, 2017, shot at and seriously injured an aluminium-sheet dealer Mukesh Bhagat of Singheshwar in Madhepura district near Star Dhaba on Murliganj NH 107 and looted cash from him when he was going to Gulabbagh in Purnia district.
The criminals overtook the truck forcing truck driver to stop the truck near Star Dhaba and two of them carrying firearms entered the driver’s cabin from two sides and asked for the cash from Mukesh Bhagat, who told them he was not carrying any cash. Suddenly, the criminals noticed a bag lying on the floor and pounced on it. When Mukesh resisted them, the criminals shot at him on the chest and escaped with the bag constaining cash.
Truck driver Pintu Yadav rushed Mukesh Bhagat to Primary health centre (PHC), Murliganj, from where he was referred to Madhepura Sadar hospital where the doctors referred him to Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH). SHO, Murliganj police station, Rajesh Kumar, said that police were quizzing the truck driver. Since the place of occurrence falls in Janakinagar police station in Purnia district hence its SHO has been informed about the incident, he said.
