Buxar : The passengers of Buxar -Patna EMU had a lucky escape on December 17, 2017, early morning due to alertness of a villager and tact of the Loco Pilot. As a result, movement of trains remained affected under Danapur Division of the East Central Railway, Hajipur. Several  trains remained stranded at different railway stations for two hours. The running of trains was restored at about 8.30 am after the mechanics repaired the rail track and fixed the Band Fish Plate.
A villager Damodar Yadav on morning walk near Buxar railway station on December 17 noticed some cracks in the railway track between Buxar and Varuna railway stations near village Harkishanpur in Buxar district while crossing the railway track. In the meantime, he saw Buxar- Patna EMU train coming. Finding no way to stop the train, he waved his red towel (gamchha) in the air to stop the train. Even the driver of the train showed his presence of mind and stopped the train though a boggie of the train still crossed the cracked track. The driver of the train informed the control about the crack and mechanics rushed to the spot immediately and repaired the rail track.
