Ara : Two love birds tied nuptial knot at Belaur Sun Temple under Udwantnagar police station in Bhojpur district on June 18, 2017, despite protest from the boy’s family.

Venu Gopla alias Chintu, son of Bhuwaneshwar Yadav of Karasa Vikram Kothi in Patna district, was in love with Sony Kumari, daughter of Kameshwar Yadav of village Lasadhi under Garhani police station for the last three years and had planned to marry her at any cost. On June 18 morning, they reached the Belaur Sun Temple and tied the nuptial knot. When the marriage rituals were on, the family members of Chintu complained to the SHO Udwantnagar police station that he had been kidnapped and was being forcibly married at the Sun temple.

SHO, Udwantnagar police station, Rajiv Kumar said that police could not interfere in it because both were adults. Yet, police went there but by that time the marriage had been solemnized. Chintu and Sony told the police that they were adult and married with the consent of each other. Chintu also said that Sony is the sister-in-law (Sali) of his cousin. The SHO said that the family members of the boy were against the marriage while that of the girl had agreed to it and were present at the time of marriage.
