Patna : World No 34 Lorenzo Sonego, 25, Italy, beat World No Laso Djere, 25, Serbia, in a three-set thriller in final on April 11, 2021, to win the Sardegna Open singles title at Cagliari, Italy, an ATP 250 clay courts tournament. Sonego now leads Djere 2-1 Head to Head.
Third seed Sonego beat defending champion Djere 2-6, 7-6, 6-4 in final in 3hrs 2 minutes rallying back from one set down to lift the men’s singles title, his second ATP tour singles title. The Italian took an a 3-1 early in the third set. Sonego partnered Andrea Vavassori to win the double title.
