Ara/ Buxar/ Sasaram: Despite ban on sale and purchase of liquor in Bihar and strict vigil by the law enforcing agency, its sale and purchase continues in Bhojpur, Buxar and Rohtas district even as police regularly seize and arrest the recalcitrant persons.

Police seized liquor and Mahua-Jawa in large quantity from different places in Bhojpur, Rohtas and Buxar districts on Wednesday and arrested eight persons. Bhojpur police arrested six persons along with four quintal of Mahua-Jawa from village Haripur under Koelwar police station on Wednesday.

Rohtas police seized liquor in large quantity from a Bolero near Girdharia mor under Dinara police station on Ara-Mohania NH 30 on Wednesday during patrolling.

Government Rail Police (GRP), Buxar, seized 25 bottles of liquor from 518 passenger train at Chausa railway station under Danapur rail division on Wednesday and arrested one Manoj Raut of Zamania in Utter Pradesh. Buxar GRP also seized 24 bottles of liquor from 566 passenger train on Wednesday. Buxar police, on the other hand,  conducted raid at village Islampur under Buxar Muffassil police station on Wednesdy and arrested Munna Ram with 30 bottles of liquor.

Sleuth of Excise department seized 30 bottles of foreign liquor from Mughalsarai-Patna passenger train on Wednesaday though the carrier managed to escape.
