Patna: Lions club of Patna Virangana associated with Akhil Bhartiyan Chhatriya Mahasabha Virangana jointly organized a tree plantation programme here on Saturday where all the members with children from orphanage planted one hundred one plants including fruit plants, vegetable plants and plants which will later develop into trees and will give shade to children from orphanage. The programme was held at Rainbow Orphanage, Bankipore middle school, on the campus of Bankipore girls high school Near Golghar.
The organisers named all the plants on each girl’s name so that they can take care of them. Later, children will be awarded each year for their plants. This award is to motivate them to keep earth green. The event was supported by BJP leaders Kiran Ghai ji and Dr C P Thakur, a Rajya Sabha member.
The Lions Club of Patna Virangana has been organizing successful projects and funds thus generated are spent on the various welfare projects undertaken by the club members. In order to widen its horizon and touch the shelter less women/girls, it is providing shelter home for them and rehabilitation centre cum home for rape, acid attack and sexual harassment victims, according to Amrita Bhushan, President, LC of Patna Virangana.
