Bettiah  : A grown up Leopard was found lying dead about 100 yards away from village Jhamauli in Manguraha forests range under Valmiki Tiger Reserve (VTR) in West Champaran district on March 5, 2017, morning by the villagers. They informed Manguraha forests range officer Mohamad  Afsar, who reached the spot and picked up the carcass for autopsy. Sources said that the Leopard was unable to move due to serious injury in one of his front legs and it is believed it died due to hunger. It is not yet clear whether Leopard’s leg injury was caused by poachers or due to fight among cats. The VTR officials refused to say anything without investigation.
