Hajipur : Unidentified criminals shot dead a Patna businessman and his staff at Gudri under Town Police Station, Hajipur, around 3.45 pm on March 5, 2017. The deceased were identified as Ankit Rastogi, 35, and his staff Dipu, 36. Confirming the incident, Vaishali SP Rakesh Kumar said that Ankit and his staff Dipu reached Hajipur by Activa scooter in the afternoon itself for collection of dues from their clients when they were shot at by unidentified criminals.
Incidentally, the SP said, the criminals did not loot cash from them as police found Rs 32,000 cash in their bags and pockets. Police are investigating into the reason behind their killing, the SP said. SP Rakesh Kumar said that Ankit and Dipu used to visit Hajipur every Sunday and the criminals had done recce on them and killed them on Sunday. It appears, the criminals had followed them from Patna itself, the SP said adding Gudri where they were killed is a slightly secluded place with small lanes. Ankit hailed from Patna City area. Police are yet to make any arrest in this connection.
