Ranchi : RJD national president and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad, 69, was admitted to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Ranchi, on March 17, 2018, after he fell ill at Birsa Munda Jail in Ranchi.  He is under observation of RIMS doctors at the cardiology ward.

A special CBI court, Ranchi, on March 17 deferred till March 19 the judgement against Lalu, and former Bihar chief minister Jagannath Mishra in another fodder scam case pertaining to alleged withdrawal of Rs 3.13 crore from Dumka treasury over two decades ago.

Lalu is in Birsa Munda jail, Ranchi, since December 23 last year, after being convicted in the second case pertaining to illegal withdrawal of money from Deogarh treasury.
