Bhabhua : A lady constable Sangita Kumari, 25, posted at Chainpur police station (PS) in Kaimur District in South Bihar, committed suicide on February 19, 2022, by hanging herself from the ceiling fan in her room at the government quarter. Negotiation for her marriage was going on. Sangita Kumari was daughter of Ram Ekbal Ram of village Mahuar under Ramgharh PS in Kaimuar District.
Kaimur SP Rakesh Kumar and DSP Sunita Kumari rushed to the spot and took first hand information about the incident. Later, police brought the body over to Bhabhua Sadar Hospital for postmortem. The reason behind the incident is still to be ascertained. Police are investigating the matter.
Police sources said that Sangita Kumari was on duty from 10 am to 2 pm and after performing her duty she retired to her room on February 19, 2022. In the late evening, other lady constables called her but she did not receive the call. The family members of the deceased were informed about it. Later, police rushed to the spot and broke open the room and took out the body. The body was hanging from the ceiling fan.
