Saharsa : Ranjan Paswan, a labourer engaged by a South Indian firm to fix HT wire on electric polies under Mahishi police station in Saharsa district, was killed in a mishap when he was trying to board a pick-up van of the company at Arapatti Bahiyar to reach another place along with some other labourers.

When Ranjan, a native of village Nathpur Goriari under Barhara police station in Purnia district, was boarding the van from behind his legs slipped and he fell under its wheels and was seriously injured. He was rushed to Saharsa Sadar hospital but soon died there. The private firm has been fixing HT wire in electric polies for the past three months. Ranjan was among the 12 labourers from Purnia district engaged by the firm along with locals, said the labourers. Police reached Saharsa Sadar hospital to do the needful.
