Saharsa: Kosi range DIG Chandrika Prasad, who on June 24 had received a threatening call on his mobile phone with the caller asking him to pay Rs 20 lakh to him immediately and also half of the amount he would get after his retirement later failing which he would be blown off, was on Tuesday transferred and made DIG, BMP ( North circle), Muzaffarpur. Purnia range DIG Upendra Kumar Sinha ( 1999 batch) has been given additional charge of DIG, Kosi range. Prasad is an IPS officer of 2002 batch.
Meanwhile, Saharsa SP Ashwini Kumar has attributed the threatening call made to Prasad to a land dispute. Prasad had lodged complaint with Sadar Police station, Saharsa, regarding threat to him.”The matter is under investigation and things would be clear after it, the Saharsa SP said. It may be recalled that Saharsa DM Vinod Singh Gunjiyal had also been threatened in May this year and he too had lodged complait with Sadar police station.
