Gopalganj: A Kolkata based builder Fazale Imam Khan committed suicide by hanging himself with the ceiling of his room at his house at village Chakmanjan under Barauli police station in Gopalganj district. His family members came to know about the suicide on Friday
morning when they found Khan’s body hanging with the roof.
Money lending is stated to be the reason behind the suicide as it was mentioned in a suicide note recovered by the police from the room
where the contractor committed suicide. Villagers said that Khan was working in Kolkata as a builder in partnership with a Siwan based contractor. They said that both of them had some dispute over money lending. The villagers said that on November 24, Khan had called the Siwan contractor at his house to settle the dispute. They said that Khan did not get his share of money. Disturbed over it, Khan wrote a note and committed suicide it. Surprisingly, Khan’s nephew Sanur Rehman was also slipping in the same room but even he could not know it.

On getting information, Barauli police station incharge SHO Chandrika Prasad reached there and sent the body to Sadar Hospital, Gopalganj, for autopsy. Police said that in his suicide note, Khan had mentioned that he did not get the money he had asked for from his partner. Police said that the suicide note did not mention the exact amount.
If family members are to be believed, Khan’s partner had borrowed Rs 14 lakh from him. They said that the Siwan contractor had come at Khan’s house to give him the money, but he did not hand over the money to him. Barauli police have started a manhunt for the Siwan based contractor. Police refused to disclose the name of the contractor, a native of village Baghra in Siwan district. The reason y behind the suicide would be clear after the arrest of  Siwan contractor, said police sources.

Barauli PS SHO Chandrka Prasad said that police have recovered a suicide note and lending of money is mentioned in the note. He said that the family members have filed a written complaint in this connection.
