Patna : Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) scored  133/7 in 20 overs against Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 56th match of IPL-12 at Wnkhede Stadium, Mumbai, Maharashtra, on May 5, 2019, night, with opener Chris Lynn scoring 41 in 29 balls hitting 2 fours and 4 sixes and Robin Uthappa scoring 40 in 47 balls with 1 four and 3 sixes. MI had won the toss and opted to bowl.

Batting first, KKR lost their first wicket that of opener Shubham Gill at 49. Gill fell to Hardik Pandya for 9. Lynn also fell to Hardik Pandya making it 56/2. Captain Dinesh Karthik fell to Lasith Malings for 3 making it 72/3. All-rounder Andre Russel, the mainstay of KKR in IPL-12, also fell to Malinga for a duck making it 73/4. Nitish Rana too fell to Malinga for 26 in 13 balls with 3 sixes and it was 120/5. Uthappa fell to Jasprit Bumrah making it 133/6. Rinku Singh fell to Bumrah for 6.

For MI, Lasith Malinga took 3/35 in 4 overs while Hardik Pandya took 2/20 in 3 overs. Jasprit Bumrah took 2/31 in 4 overs. Although spinner Krunal Pandya did not get a wicket but he conceded only 14 runs in his 4 overs.
