Saharsa : Kiran Devi was on December 27, 2021, elected Chairperson of District Board, Saharsa, while Dhirendra Kumar Yadav was elected as Vice-Chairman. The election was held at the Collectorate conference Hall. Kiran Devi said that she would strive for the development of the district and dedicate herself to the development works.
Kiran Devi, wife of former District Board Chairman Surendra Yadav, defeated Madhumita Kumari in the election to the post of District Board Chairperson. Kiran Devi polled 13 votes while Madhumita Kumari polled 8 votes. Madhumita Kumari is wife of JD(U) leader Amar Yadav.
Dhirendra Kumar Yadav pipped Santosh Kumar to the post of Vice-chairman, District Board, Saharsa. Dhirendra Kumar Yadav polled 13 votes while Santosh Kumar polled 8 votes.
The locals and supporters of all the four candidates had gathered around collectorate to get a feel of the election process. Kiran Devi reached collectorate with her husband and former District Board Chairman Surendra Yadav. All newly elected Members of District Board took oath on the occasion.
