Ara: A college student of Vaishali district gave a slip to her kidnappers and escaped from their clutches and reached  Ara railway station on August 16  evening. She went to the Government Rail Police (GRP), Ara, and narrated her woes. An FIR had already been lodged with the Hajipur police in Vaishali district in connection with her kidnapping.

SHO, GRP, Ara, Parashuram Singh said that Shweta Kumar, daughter of Ajay Kumar, lived with her maternal uncle Amarnath Kuamr of Dighitalla locality under Hajipur police station who is a property dealer. On August 9, 25016, she had gone to her coaching centre from her maternal uncle’s house in the morning but did not reach the coaching centre as for miscreants kidnapped near Chaila Chowk en route her coaching centre. The kidnappers kept her at Hajipur town the entire day and then took her to Shilong via road and kept her in a wooden house in the middle of a jungle there and gave her food purchased from market.

The kidnappers tried to demand ransom from her maternal uncle on his mobile but every time the mobile said the number is not reachable that caused quarrel among them. Taking advantage of their quarrel, the girl escaped from their clutches and reached Guwahati and from Guwahati she boarded 14055 Brahmputra Mail and reached Ara. The Ara GRP informed the Hajipur police. The Hajipur police came to Ara along with her family members and took her to Hajipur alongwith them.
