Sasaram: Rajesh Kumar, Panchayat Samiti member of Goshaldiha panchayat under Suryapura block under Bikramganj sub-division in Rohtas district, who was kidnapped in the presence of police by some people on Thursday before the election of Block Pramukh, was recovered on Friday evening from Kaimur district. He lodged a named FIR with Bikramganj police station the same evening against 18 persons including Ashok Kumar, husband of Rita Singh, panchayat samiti member of the same panchayat, in connection with his kidnapping.
Some miscreants had kidnapped Rajesh Kumar, panchayat samiti member of Goshaldih panchayat under Suryapura block on Thursday from the gate of the block headquarters in the presence of police just before the election of Block Pramukh for pressuring him to caste his vote in their favour. Police swung into action and borders of Bikramganj sub-division were sealed. Police conducted raids at different places to recover Rajesh. The election of Block Pramukh was postponed till Rajesh Kumar was recovered. SDO, Bikramganj, Rajesh Kumar said that the state election commission had ordered to postpone the election in the event of horse trading or influencing of the voters in one way or other.
Due to mounting police pressure the miscreants released him in on Friday evening on Friday and the police recovered him from Maliabagh area under Dawath police station in Kaimur district. Police are conducting raids at different places to nab the culprits.
