Ara : In a bizarre incident, a girl tied the nuptial knot with her cousin brother at a temple at Sasaram in Rohtas district. The matter came light after the girl reached the Woman Police Station, Ara, on May 27, 2017, and revealed the matter in an anti-climax to the case alleging she had been kidnapped.

Later, police brought her to Ara Sadar Hospital for medical examination. SHO, Woman Police Station, Ara,  Poonam Kumari said that police would produce her before the court on May 29, 2017, to record her statement under section 164 CrPC.

The girl, who lived at DM road under Jagdishpur police station in Bhojpur district, fell in love with her cousin brother Raja Babu living beside her home four year ago. On April 1, 2017, both fled way from their houses and went to Sasaram  and tied the knot at a temple there. The girl’s family members searched for her and when they failed to locate her, they lodged an FIR with  Jagdishpur police station on April 8, 2017, and since then police were searching for them. On May 27 evening, the girl appeared before the SHO, Woman Police Station, Ara, and narrated the whole story and said she had eloped with her lover. She also said that both of them had applied in the court for the registration of their marriage.
