Muzaffarpur : IG, Muzaffarpur Zone, Sunil Kumar, held a high level meeting with SSB Frontier IG Chanchal Shekhar on May 27, 2017, to discuss ways to stop liquor smuggling and human trafficking through Indo-Nepal border.
IG, SSB, Chanchal Shekhar, said that mobile teams would stop liquor smuggling through Indo-Nepal border. Zonal IG, Muzaffarpur, Sunil Kumar, said that apart from checking liquor smuggling the meeting also chalked out strategy to stop human trafficking including that of minor girls. IG Kumar said that police would act stern action against the smugglers.
During last one year, 1,038 cases of liquor smuggling were detected on the Indo-Nepal border and 45,000 litre of Nepali liquor was seized.
The meeting was held at SSB Headquarters, Muzaffarpur, and was attended by SPs of East Champaran, West Champaran, Muzaffarpur, Sitamarhi, Sheohar and Supaul besides DIG, SSB, and Tirhut Range DIG.
