Ara : Police on October 2, 2019, recovered an Intermediate Science girl student from Ramana Maidan and brought her over to Ara Sadar Hospital for medical examination. Police also produced her before an Ara Court to get her statement recorded under Section 164 of CrPC.

SHO, Nawada police station, Ara, Sanjay Kumar said that a teenage girl, a student of ISc and daughter of a police constable, had gone to the market from her house at Maula Bagh MMP road to buy a book on September 20, 2019, but did not return home. The family members searched for her everywhere but in vain. They finally lodged an FIR was lodged with Nawada police station on September 25, 2019, alleging the girl had been kidnapped. After institution of the FIR, police swung into action and conducted raids to recover the girl.

The SHO said that the kidnappers had taken girl to Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, and added that under mounting police pressure, the kidnappers dropped her at Ramana Maidan and police recovered her from there.
