Patna : World No 12 Wang Tzu Wei, 25, Taiwan, beat World No 14 Kidambi Srikanth, 27, India, in a three-game thriller in a Group Stage match at HSBC BWF World Tour Finals at Bangkok, Thailand, on January 28, 2021. Wang beat Srikanth 19-21, 21-9, 21-19 in 78 minutes rallying back from one game down.
Wang won 61 rallies in the match to 49 by Srikanth. He awon 7 consecutive points during the match to 4 by the Indian. Srikanth though still leads Wang 3-1 Head to Head.
Srikanth had lost his first Group Stage match to World No 3 Anders Antonsen, 23, Denmark, in three games on January 27, 2021.
