Motihari : Kailash Raut, 60, was stabbed to death while his Grandson Mukesh Kumar, 24, received serious knife injuries when two
unidentified motorcycle borne youth attacked them on NH28A near Chandisthan in Mathiya locality of Motihari town, headquarters of East Champaran District in North Bihar, on March 18, 2020. Mukesh Kumar has been admitted to a private nursing home here while the body of slain Kailash Raut was sent to Motihari Sadar Hospital by police.
Mukesh Kumar, in his statement to Chatauni police,said that his Grandfather Kailash Raut was running a’ Khatal’ of cows of which one died on March 17, 2020, night. He along with his Grandfather hired a tractor to carry the body of cow and were disposing it on the flank of NH 28A. In the meantime, two unidentified youth reached there and started abusing them and asked them to stop the disposal of cow body near road. They attacked his Grandfather with knife killing him on the spot, Mukesh said and added that they also attacked him with knife injuring him.
SHO, Town police station, Abhay Kumar, said that two persons have been detatained in this connection and further investigation was going on.
According to police sources, two persons in Mathiya Zirat locality of the town: Akash Kumar and Imteyaz, were also stabbed at two places by the two unidentified bike borne criminals an hour after stabbing Grandfather- Grandson duo on NH28A. Police are taking help of CCTV footage to identify the two criminals. Meanwhile, tension is prevails in Mathiya and Mathiya Zirat localities of town.
