Motihari  :  On the direction of Patna High Court, the East Champaran District  Civil Court, Motihari, changed its court timing to  6 am to 10 am in morning from March 18, 2020, and all shops on the Civil Court campus have been closed  to avoid public gathering there in view of novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) threat.

District and Sessions Judge Krishna Shankar Singh Sengar called  a meeting of  the lawyers and all judicial officers and discussed the measures to prevent Coronavirus. All the judicial officers and lawyers were unanimous that every possible precaution should be taken against Coronavirus both as an individual and as communities.

Shesh Narayan Kanwar and Kanhaiya Kumar Singh, District President and Secretary respectively of Bar Association, Motihari, and Rajiv Kumar Dwivedi, Co-chairman  of State Bar Council, Patna, welcomed the advisory of the High Court. With a view to protecting the public, litigants, judicial officers and employees of courts from COVID-19, only  urgent matters would be taken up for hearing by the court.
