Kento Momota advances to men’s singles 2nd round of BWF Indonesia Open

Patna : World No 1 and top seed Kento Momota, Japan, and World No 3 and 4th seed Chou Tien Chen, Chinese Taipei, entered men’s singles 2nd round of Blibli Indonesia Open, an HSBC BWF World Tour Super 1,000 badminton tournament, at Jakarta, Indonesia, on July 16, 2019.

Momota beat World No 22 Liew Daren, Malaysia, 22-20, 21-14 in 48 minutes in the first round. Chen defeated World No 33 Suppanyu Avinhingsanon, Thailand, 21-12, 21-11 in 35 minutes in the first round. Sixth seed Jonatan Christie and 7th seed Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, both Indonesia, have also entered the 2nd round

In the women’s section, World No 1 Tai Tzu Ying, Chinese Taipei, and World No 4 Akane Yamaguchi, Japan, have entered the 2nd round.
