Katihar ASI arrested in Kishanganj

Patna : Police arrested a suspended ASI policeman Zakir Hussain, who had shot at and injured the SHO, Sudhani police station in Katihar district, Rakesh Raman, on February 6, 2018, night, was arrested in Kishanganj district on February 8. SHO Raman had received the gunshot injury his arm.

According to Katihar SP Siddharth Mohan Jain, the suspended Assistant Sub-Inspector Zakir Hussain, who had fled after opening fire at SHO of Sudhani police station Rakesh Raman, was arrested by Kishenganj police on February 8 morning and sent to Katihar. Police are interrogating Zakir Hussain and he has claimed that Raman had been using foul language while talking to him for quite some time. On February 6 night, things reached a flashpoint and he took out his service revolver and opened fire. The revolver has been seized.

ASI Zakir Hussain was suspended recently following a public agitation in December 2017 charging him having wrongfully detained one person. According to the SP, ASI Hussain was suspecting that a complaint by SHO Raman had led to his suspension.
