Kashyap enters SFs of Yonex Canada Open

Patna : World No 36 in Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings Parupalli Kashyap, India, entered the semi-finals of Yonex Canada Open, a BWF Tour Super 100 tournament, on July 5, 2019, evening. Kashyap beat World No 84 Lucas Claerbout, France, in a three-game thriller 12-21, 23-21, 24-22 coming from behind in the quarter-finals at Markin Macphail Centre, Calgary, Canada, in 1 hr 16 minutes on July 5.

Kashyap won 59 rallies to 64 by Claerbout. Kashyap won 5 consecutive points in the match to 6 by Claerbout. Kashyap will face World No 30 Wang Tzu Wei, Taiwan, in the semi-finals on July 6, 2019.

But, World No 46 Sourabh Verma, India, lost to World No 126 Li Shi Feng, China, in straight games 15-21, 11-21 in 38 minutes in the quarter-finals.
