Patna: Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union president Kanhaiya Kumar on Wednesday appealed to Bihar CM  Nitish Kumar to solve the problems of the agitating students of College of Arts and Crafts, Patna University.

Addressing a meeting of students at Gandhi Maidan here, Kanhaiya said Nitish started his political career through students union politics and has become CM on the support of the students. He owes a responsibility to the students of  College of Arts and Crafts many of whom were arrested  and sent to Beur central jail, Patna,  a fortnight back.
Kanhaiya requested Nitish should intervene in the matter and ensure the students were released from the jail and their suspension from Patna University is revoked.

Kanhaiaya went to Beur Central Jail and met the jailed students. Police had a minor scuffle with the supporters of Kanhaiya  who wanted to break the cordon near JP roundabout at Gandhi Maidan and march to main streets of the state capital. Police used minor force and dispersed  them.
