Patna : Former Union Minister and Congress heavyweight from Madhya Pradesh Jyotiraditya Scindia, who joined the BJP on March 11, 2020, is among the nine party candidates whose names have been announced for the Rajya Sabha (RS) polls scheduled for March 26, 2020. Scindia, a four-term former Lok Sabha Member, had resigned from Congress Party on March 10, 2020. He will contest RS polls from MP.
The names of Vivek Thakur, son of former Union Minister and a top physician of Bihar Dr C P Thakur, Bhubaneswar Kalita, Assam, Deepak Prakash, Jharkhand, also figure in the list. The last date of filing nominations is march 13, 2020. Vivek Thakur is a former MLC.
The JD(U), one of the constituents of NDA, has re-nominated Harivansh, Deputy Chairman, Rajya Sabha, and Ramnath Thakur, for the Rajya Sabha polls. Ramnath Thakur, a former Bihar Minister, is son of former Bihar Chief Minister Karpoori Thakur.
