Patna:  The Justice(retired) Rajendra Prasad inquiry commission probing the police firing on Tharu tribals at village Katharwa  in Bagaha police district on June 24, 2013, submitted its report to Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on Saturday. Six tribals were killed in firing and 26 were injured.

A team of police, which had gone to investigate a murder case, was attacked by the tribals. Police retaliated by firing in which six persons were killed. The state government had set up two members official committee consisting of the then ADG S K Bhardwaj and Anand Kshore, now divisional commissioner of Patna, to probe the firing. After getting report of the two-member committee, the CM ordered constitution of an inquiry commission.

The BJP was dropped out of the government a week before the Bagaha incident. Then RJD was hostile to the Nitish led government and had demanded submission of inquiry commission report within six months and compensation of Rs ten lakh each to the families of the police firing victims.
