Bokaro ( Jharkhand ) : In a scathing attack  on Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and its chief Shibu Soren for doing nothing for tribals  except exploiting them , Jharkhand CM Raghubar Das on February 25 questioned the identity  and role of JMM in contemporary Jharkhand politics and said its role was over after  formation of Jharkhand state.

“Jharkhand Rajya  ko Bane 16 warsh se jyada ho chukka hai to phir Jharkhand mukti morche ka auchitya kya hai (The state  of Jharkhand was formed more than 16 yars ago and JMM party was formed for formation of this state),” said Das taking a dig at Guruji Shibu Soren. One should think of  development of Jharkhand  which only the BJP was capable of not JMM, the Jharkhand CM said.

Raghubar Das was speaking on the first day of  two- days function of  state BJP tribal  executive committee meeting  at Jaina More, about 15km away from Bokaro steel city on February 25 afternoon. Urging the tribals of Jharkhand  to  give  their total support  to the BJP instead of JMM, Das said that the JMM has done nothing for their uplift rather has cheated them while his government was committed to the development of the state which was eviden from the recent Jharkhand budget.

Wooing the tribals, Raghubar Das stated that though Jharkhand is recognized as a tribal state but till date no government had done anything concrete for the welfare of tribals. ” The BJP government has initiated several schemes for making tribals economically and socially strong,” said the Jharkhand CM. “Our government has taken several initiatives for generation of employment for tribal unemployed in the state to stop the migration of tribal labourers to big cities in search of jobs,” Das said.

“We have planned to create employment at village level  to stop migration of tribals and have made provision of  Rs 50 crore to pay fees for tribal youth who want to pursue engineering and medical education. We will be giving loan up to  Rs 4 lakh to students who want to pursue professional courses,” Das added.

The Jharkhand government can’t promise government jobs to all youth but can generate  employment  by  establishing cottage industries in rural belt  including in art and handicrafts,  forest products, vegetables procession  units, he said. ” We have signed several MoUs with several national and international companies at the recently concluded Momentum Jharkhand,” Das added.

Earlier,  the chief minister was given warm welcome at Jaina Mor helipad by Giridih MP Ravindra Pandey,  Jharkhand cabinet minister Amar Boury, Bokaro MLA Viranchi Narain , DIG Saket Singh, Bokaro DC R M Ray, SP Y Ramesh and others.
