Jharkhand police arrest youth in rape case from Bhojpur village

Ara : Jharkhand police, with the help of their Bhojpur counterpart, arrested a youth from village Gaura under Bahoranpur police outpost in Bhojpur District, on February 7, 2020, in connection with a rape case.

Later, police took the youth to Jharkhand with them. The arrested youth was identified as Angad Kumar Thakur, son of Kamlesh Thakur alias Bhikhari Thakur of Gaura village.

SHO, Bahoranpur police outpost, Manish Kumar, said that Angad Kumar Thakur had lured a teenage girl of Saraikala-Kharsawa area under RIT police station in Jharkhand and outraged her modesty with a promise to marry her but later refused. A named FIR was lodged with RIT police station in Jharkhand on the statement of the mother of the girl and ever since Angad Kumar Thakur was absconding. After institution of FIR, Jharkhand police swung into action and following mobile surveillance, reached Ara and with the help of their Bhojpur counterpart conducted raids at Gaura village and arrested Angad Kumar Thakur and took him to Jharkhand with them.
