Ranchi ( Jharkhand) :  Not impressed with  new liquor sale Rules, Jharkhand Governor Draupadi Murmu on August 3, 2017, strongly advocated for ‘Total Prohibition’ in the state which according to her will help solve economic, social, educational and health problems  of major population  of  tribals who have cultivated drinking habit as it is easily available as it is also brewed at village level.

Murmu was giving her personal opinion on the issue of new Excise Policy initiated by the state government at Jamshedpur on August 2 evening while returning to Ranchi from her parents’ village at Rairangpur in Odisha  on way to Ranchi.

Murmu said that as Jharkhand is tribal dominated state  most of  its tribal population which has made drinking its regular food habit which not only gives it financial blow forcing the families concerned to live in poverty but also comes in the ay of imparting education to their children  besides creating health problems.

“I personally feel  that total prohibition  should be  implemented  in Jharkhand though the state government has to take final decision  in this regard,” said the Governor while talking to mediapersons.
