Ranchi ( Jharkhand) : Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren on January 28, 2020, expanded his Cabinet by inducting 7 ministers in the Council of Ministers. Five of the new ministers are from the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) while two belong to the Congress. Jharkhand Governor Droupadi Murmu administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new ministers at Raj Bhavan. The State Cabinet has now 11 ministers.
CM Hemant Soren inducted Champai Soren, Haji Hussain Ansari, Jagannath Mahto, Joba Manjhi, Mithilesh Kumar Thakur  from the JMM, and Banna Gupta and Badal Patralekh from the Congress as ministers in his Cabinet. Mahto and Thakur are first-time ministers while Manjhi was a minister in previous NDA governments before she joined the JMM. The other four were ministers in the previous UPA governments.

The JMM has now six members in the State cabinet including the chief minister while the Congress has 4 ministers and RJD has one minister. 

The JMM-Congress-RJD alliance came to power in the state in December, 2019, defeating the BJP in the Assembly Elections. Hemant Soren had taken oath as the 11th chief minister of Jharkhand on December 29, 2019, along with three ministers : Alamgir Alam and Rameshwar Oraon, bothe Congress, and Satyanand Bhokta, RJD.
