Saharsa : In a theft committed at the house of Krishna Ballabh Singh at village Bharauli under Sonbersa Kutchery police station in Saharsa district on April 2, 2017, night, jewellery worth Rs 23 lakh and Rs 2 lakh cash was stolen by six thieves after bolting the rooms of females from outside. The thieves also took away the land documents kept in 75 year old box weighing about 350 kg.
Krishna Ballabh Singh said that the jewellery and cash was kept at the house for the marriage of his grand daughter. Singh was sleeping on the verandah while his two daughters-in-law were sleeping in their rooms when the thieves entered the house. Krishna Ballabh Singh’s son Vicky Singh had gone out of the village in connection with marriage of his niece.
When Krishna Ballabh’s daughters-in-law woke up in the morning on April 3, they found their rooms bolted from outside. They raised an alarm after which neighbours came and opened the rooms and the family members found the lock of the main door broken. Police have seized some materials which the thieves threw in a field and started probe into the incident.
