Muzaffarpur : Bihar government will organise several programmes in East Champaran distict in North Bihar on April 18, 2017, in the presence of CM Nitish Kumar to make Mahatma Gandhi’s Champaran Satyagrah centenary a memorable event.

Giving this information, Commissioner, Tirhut Division, Atul Prasad, on April 4 said that at a programme to be held at Gandhi Maidan, Motihari, headquarters of East Champaran district, Mahatma Gandhi’s historical argument before the then SDM court would also be broadcast/ telecast on the day. Prasad held a meeting with all the DMs under Tihut division on April 3 in this connection.

Apart from programmes in East Champaran, many programmes will also be organised between Muzaffarpur and Motihari on April 18, said Prasad. A Padyatra would also be taken out from Chandrahaiya to Motihari Gandhi Maidan with all the participants wearing Gandhi cap, he said. Prasad said that the people would also hear the discussion between Mahatma Gandhi and Wilson. Meanwhile, the Logo of Champaran Satyagrah Shatabdi has been changed. In the new Logo, two children would also be shown with Mahatma Gandhi.
