Motihari : Armed  criminals kidnapped a jeweller Om Prakash Sarraf at 10 pm on Wednesday near  a petrol pump  at Pachpakadi under the same police station in  East  Champaran  district when he was returning to his native village Bhandar on his motorcycle  after  closing his shop at Pachpakadi market near Sheohar  district border.

As soon Sarraf  reached near petrol pump  on Pachpakadi –Bhandar road, a Bolero jeep  blocked his  way. About  six  criminals  came out from the bolero  and forced  Sarraf to  sit in it and sped away  towards Dhaka  in  breakneck speed. It was raining  at the time and no  one was  on road.

Pachpakadi police station ASI Ramesh Kumar said that  the police rushed to the spot  and found Sarraf’s motorcycle  Sarraf lying there. DSP,  Sikrahna,  Bambam Chaudhary,  also visited the place of occurrence. East Champaran SP  Jitendra Rana  said that  raids were on  and each vehicle was  being searched in the area and on the border of  Sheohar .
The kidnappers are yet to be arrested though. The businessmen of Pachpakadi , Bhandar and Dhaka  on Thursday  protested the deterioration in  law and order.

One Mithilesh Kumar,  a spice trader,  at Pachpakadi  market  was looted and beaten up by criminals on Tuesday night  when he was returning to village Sorpaniya on his motorcycle. He was intercepted by criminals near Pachpakadi. The criminals looted him and threw him on road flank after tying his legs and hands . Police recovered him and admitted to Dhaka referral hospital.

On Tuesday night  itself, Dhananjay Kumar , a big businessman of Gola road , Muzaffarpurpur,  was  intercepted by a gang of criminals  near glass factory near Piprakothi  under the same police station  on NH28 Motihari -Muzaffarpur road. The criminals looted Rs 6 lakh cash , motorcycle , cellphone and other valuables from him at gun point . The incident of loot  is common at this place and Wednesday night incident was 13th  incident of loot in last one year . The police  recovered  the looted motorcycle of Dhananjay  from  a field near Jiwdhara on Thursday. Similarly, on   Wednesday,  criminals looted  Rs  15,000 cash  from  Mohammad Masul  near  Chakiya market when he was  returning
home  from Chakiya  with his  family members .
