Patna : 22nd seed Jennifer Brady, 25, USA, beat 25th seed Karolina Muchova, 24, Czech Republic, in a three-set thriller in semi-finals at Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne Park, Australia, on February 18, 2021, to reach the final of Australian Open (AO) 2021, her first Grand Slam singles final. She will clash with 3rd seed Naomi Osaka, 23, Japan, the winner of three Grand Slam singles titles, in final. Brady had also reached SFs of US Open 2020. Osaka beat Serena Williams, 39, USA, in straight sets in SFs in first SFs the same day.

Jennifer Brady won the first set 6-4. But, Muchova rallied back to win the second set 6-3. But, Brady took a 5-4 lead in third set and was serving for the match leading 40-30 in 10th game. Muchova, however, took the game to deuce six  times in a bid to break Brady’s service. But, Brady  finally prevailed winning the set but 6-4. Brady beat Muchova 6-4, 3-6, 6-4.

Both the players won three break points each in the match. Both of them also won 3 games each in a row in the match. Brady, however, fired 8 Aces in the match to just 1 by Muchova. Incidentally, Brady won 80 points during the match while Muchova won 83 points.
