New Delhi : A total of 12,881 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in India in last 24 hours outpacing the recoveries. With it, the number of Covid-19 cases recorded so far in the country rose to 1,09,50,201 at 8 am on February 18, 2021. On the other hand, only 11,987 Covid-19 patients were declared cured/ discharged in India in last 24 hours, 894 less than the new cases, taking the tally to 1,06,56,845 in the country exceeding the number of active cases ( 1,37,342) by a stupendous margin of 1,05,19,503 on February 18, 2021.
The active cases accounted for only 1.25% of the total cases ( 1,09,50,201) recorded in India at 8 am on February 18, 2021. The country has tested 20,87,03,791 samples so far including 7,26,562 samples on February 17, 2021. Meanwhile, 94,22,228 Corona Warriors have been vaccinated against Covid-19 so far in India including 4,22,998 beneficiaries on February 17, 2021. Of the 1,09,50,201 Covid-19 cases recorded so far in India, altogether 2,06,56,845 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate (RR) being 97.32%, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
The Covid-19 toll jumped to 1,56,014 in India on February 18, 2021, with 101 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 40 in Maharashtra, 16 in Kerala, 10 in Punjab, 6 in Tamilnadu, 5 in Chhattisgarh, 3 in Karnataka, 3 in Uttar Pradesh, 2 in Uttar Pradesh, 2 in Andhra Pradesh, 1 in Bihar, and 1 in Haryana. India had recorded 100 new deaths on February 17, 2021.
