Patna : The JD(U) will take disciplinary action against its vice president Satish Kumar for his criticism of wo senior party leaders :K C Tyagi and R C P Sinha. Sanjay Kumar Singh, JD(U) spokesman, said the party president has taken note of the statement of Satish Kumar and appropriate action would be taken against him.
Reacting to the charge of Satish Kumar that CM Nitish Kumar decided against party contesting UP assembly elections on the suggestion of Tyagi and Sinha, Sanjay said the decision was taken by the core group of the party.

Senior JD(U) leader Satish Kumar on February 2 criticised the party president and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar for his decision not to field party candidates in UP assembly elections. Satish was incharge of party affairs in UP and was
replaced by R C P Sinha, the party general secretary.

In a statement here, Satish said Nitish Kumar was being misguided by R C P Sinha and another party secretary general K C Tyagi. He alleged both Tyagi and Sinha have vested interests in UP. Tyagi hails from UP and Sinha was an IAS officer in UP. He alleged Nitish Kumar removed him from UP affairs on the advice of Sinha and on his advice, the CM decided not to contest elections in UP and dropped the decision to campaign there.

Satish alleged Tyagi betrayed the other backward castes in UP and deprived them of their right to contest on JD(U) symbol. Satish Kumar is an old colleague of Nitish Kumar and belongs to the same Kurmi caste. He had organised Kurmi Chetna rally at Patna Gandhi Maidan in February 1994. Nitish had distanced himself from Lalu Prasad after the rally alleging Kurmis were not getting their rightful share in power in Bihar and floated Samata Party. Kurmi Chenta rally was considered the launching pad of Nitish Kumar as an OBC leader.

JD (U) spokesman Sanjay Kumar Singh regretted statement of Satish Kumar and said the decision not to contest UP elections was taken at the core group meeting of the party. Satish Kumar had criticised Nitish for his support to demonetisation as well.
