Ara : Bhojpur district JD(U) president  Ashok Kumar Sharma, on the direction of state party President Bashishtha Narayan Singh, MP, sacked Prakash Kumar Singh alias Rakesh Kumar Singh from the post of Udwantnagar Block president of the party and also from the primary membership of the party with immediate effect on October 31, 2017,  after his name figured in the FIR in connection with the death of four persons due to consumption of Hooch  at village Danwar under Kachhawaha police station in Rohtas district.

Sharma said that Rakesh Singh is close relative of a retired teacher Harendra Singh, who had recently returned the dowry amount taken in the marriage of his son. Rakesh Kumar Singh has been expelled from the JD(U) for his alleged involvement in liquor trade even as the government had enforced prohibition in Bihar in April 2016, according to state JD(U) General Secretary Navin Kumar Arya.
