JD(U) block general secretary shot dead

Ara: Three unidentified armed criminals shot at the Jagdishpur JD(U) block general secretary Mrityunjay Singh at Magari Chowk under Jagdishpur police station in Bhojpur district late Thursday evening.  He was admitted to  Ara Sadar Hospital but the doctor there  referred him to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) in a precarious condition but he succumbed to his injuries on way to PMCH.

Later, the police brought the body over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. An FIR has been lodged with Jagdishpur police station but no arrest has so far been made in this regard. The SHO Jagdishpur police station said that three unidentified armed miscreants chased Mrityunjay Singh, 30, of Bishen Tola under Jagdishpur police station when he was returning home from market Thursday evening and shot at him near a mosque at Magari Chowk .
