Jan Sadharan Ticket Booking system evoking good response

Patna : Jan  Sadharan  Ticket  Booking  ( JTBS)  system  has evoked  good response  from the common people under all five divisions  of East Central Railway ( ECR ) and its number has increased to 95 now under the zone.

 ECR  CPRO Arvind Rajak  said railways is committed to provide  more facilities to common people by opening more JTBS  counters in semi- urban and rural areas of the state .The   Danapur division of East Central Railway ( ECR ) has  set up 49 Jan Sadharan  Ticket Booking Sewak ( JTBS)  counters at 28 locations at different places under the division,  he said. He said the railways has invited  more  applications from interested people  to set up JTBS counters as per railway guidelines laid down by Railway Board. These counters  will issue unreserved tickets through computerized unreserved ticketing system ( UTS ) for a period of three years  from the date of actual allotment to them, he said. 

About five counters  have been  set up  at Patna  at New Market, near Patna parcel office and  Karbighiaya end locations to issue unreserved tickets to passengers. Similarly, railways  has  set up JTBS counters at Rajendra Nagar Terminal , Buxar , Ara, Danapur ,Patna Sahib, Fatuha, Barh , Bakhtiarpur, Mokama, Hathidah, Lakhisarai, Kiul , Jamui , Jhajha , Sheikhpura , Baraihya , Nawada , Rajgir, Biharsharif, Jehanabad , Bihta, Gulazrabagh , Islampur , Bihia, Dumraon, Zamania and Dildarnagar, sources  said.

According to  sources , railways had  received large number of applications from eligible persons to set up JTBS counters. These applications were  scrutinized and then railways  expedited  process for their allotment to  eligible persons who have been  authorized to collect  Rs one only as commission per passenger for issuing tickets from JTBS counters,sources  said.         

New Time Table :  ECR will bring  out a new time table in October this year  instead of July. Railways  is busy printing new time table ‘ Trains at a Glance ‘ and ‘ Eastern Zone Public  Time Table’ which will carry details about trains,  journey plan and rules and regulations of the railways  related to commercial matters , ECR CPRO Rajak said.

Train Stoppage : Lokmanya  Tilak – Kamakhaya  Express ( 12519-12520 ) has been granted temporary stoppage at Hajipur for two minutes from August 1  , 2016, in the interest of the passengers. This stoppage has been given on experimental basis by Railway Board, Rajak said.
