Saharsa : The four-old day old `Jal Satyagrah’ demanding construction of bridges over river Kosi at Kathdumarghat and Agardahght in Saharsa district and a link road up to Saharbanni in Khagaria district was called off on March 11, 2017, after Madhepura MP and Jan Adikar Party (JAP) patron Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav assured those standing in the river for the last four days to press their demand that he would raise the demand in Lok Sabha after Holi festival.

Mahasetu Evam Sadak Nirman Sanghursh Samiti president Sindhu Prasad Yadav, who was spearheading the `Jal Satagrah' with Samiti Secretary Ranvijay Singh, Treasurer Amarnath Singh, and former MLA Surendra Yadav said that the people had a lot of hope from Pappu Yadav. JAP district spokesman Shailendra Shekhar was also present when Pappu Yadav met those on `Jal Satyagrah’ including Ranvir Yadav, Binchu Pehalwan, Bipin Pandit, Akhilesh Pandit and Subhash Yadav. Pappu Yadav said that the leaders who represented the area for the last 70 years had neglected it.

The Madhepura MP said that he would take up the demand for bridge at Kathdumarghat and Agardaghat with union minister Nitin Gadkari and request him to order a survey for the bridges. The MP said that if fails in his mission he too would join the agitation.
